Through a range of fundraising events, partnerships and community initiatives, the Foundation has worked to ensure that Elle's legacy continues to create meaningful and lasting impact.

Supporting Community Organisations

The Foundation has also provided financial support to several other organisations working within the community.

Donations have been made to the Liverpool Homeless Football League to assist with equipment, kit and operational costs, helping ensure that participants continue to benefit from the support, structure and opportunities the organisation provides.

Working in partnership with North West Community Stars, the Foundation also made a donation to a children's cancer centre in Blackpool, supporting young patients and their families during some of the most difficult times of their lives.

Giving a Voice to Bereaved Families

Beyond fundraising and community projects, the Foundation is committed to improving the support available to families affected by serious violence and homicide.

Our founder, Tim Edwards, has been actively involved in a national initiative known as Voices of the Bereaved, a group made up of family members from across the United Kingdom who have experienced the loss of a loved one through murder or serious violence.

Over the course of a year, the group worked alongside the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and Victim Support as part of a government-led programme aimed at improving the services, communication and support provided to bereaved families navigating the criminal justice system.

The initiative focused on helping organisations better understand the lived experiences of victims' families and ensuring that future families receive the care, compassion and support they deserve throughout investigations, court proceedings and beyond.

Sharing Lived Experience

Tim also regularly delivers talks and presentations based on his own lived experience following the murder of his daughter, Elle.

These talks are delivered to organisations including:

Merseyside Police

The Probation Service

Victim support groups

Organisations working with families affected by serious violence and homicide

By sharing his experiences openly and honestly, Tim hopes to help professionals better understand the impact that serious violence has on families and communities, while also encouraging meaningful change in the way support is delivered.

Continuing Elle's Legacy

Every project, partnership and fundraiser undertaken by the Foundation is driven by one simple aim: to ensure that Elle's legacy continues to make a positive difference.

Whether supporting grassroots sport, helping vulnerable members of the community, advocating for bereaved families, or working to prevent violence, the Foundation remains committed to creating opportunities, inspiring hope and helping others in Elle's name.

Together, we can continue to turn tragedy into positive change.

Elle's Army FC

Elle's Army FC was born from something truly special.

Following the success of two charity football matches held in 2024 and 2025 in memory of Elle Edwards, it became clear that the women's teams involved represented much more than football. They brought together young women from a wide range of backgrounds, united by friendship, community, and a shared desire to honour Elle's memory.

Following the success of two charity football matches held in 2024 and 2025 in memory of Elle Edwards, it became clear that the women's teams involved represented much more than football. They brought together young women from a wide range of backgrounds, united by friendship, community, and a shared desire to honour Elle's memory.

Inspired by the spirit, passion and togetherness shown during those events, Sophie Edwards — Elle's cousin — approached the Elle Edwards Foundation at the beginning of 2026 with an idea: to create a women's football team that would carry Elle's name forward and continue the legacy that had begun on those charity match days.

From that vision, Elle's Army FC was formed.

Since its creation, the club has continued to grow in both strength and numbers, providing opportunities for women to participate in football while becoming part of a supportive and inspiring community. The team has successfully competed in a number of tournaments across the Merseyside region and is now officially affiliated with The Football Association (FA).

More than just a football team, Elle's Army FC represents resilience, friendship, opportunity and remembrance. Every match played and every new player welcomed into the squad helps ensure that Elle's legacy continues to inspire future generations.

Partnership with Weapons Down Wirral CIC

The Elle Edwards Foundation is proud to support organisations that are making a genuine difference in the lives of young people and helping to create safer communities.

Recently, our founder, Tim Edwards, met with Andrew Groom, founder of Weapons Down Wirral CIC and Argyle Community Fitness in Birkenhead. Andrew invited Tim to visit the centre and see first-hand the incredible work being carried out to support local young people through boxing, fitness, mentorship and community engagement.

Weapons Down Wirral CIC

What Tim witnessed was far more than a gym. He saw a safe and positive environment where young people are encouraged to develop confidence, discipline, respect and resilience. Through sport and mentorship, the team at Weapons Down Wirral CIC is helping young people navigate the challenges they face while providing opportunities that can steer them away from crime and towards a brighter future.

After spending time with Andrew, learning about his background and seeing the impact the organisation is having within the local community, Tim knew immediately that this was a cause closely aligned with the mission and values of the Elle Edwards Foundation.

As a result, the Foundation has made a donation to Weapons Down Wirral CIC to help ensure that free sessions for young people can continue to be delivered every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. These sessions provide a vital service, offering young people a positive outlet, trusted role models and a supportive environment in which they can grow and thrive.

The Elle Edwards Foundation is honoured to play a small part in supporting the outstanding work being carried out by Andrew and his team. We look forward to building on this partnership and providing further support whenever and wherever we can.

Together, we can help create opportunities, inspire positive choices and give young people the support they need to reach their full potential.

Supporting New Brighton Saints FC

In early 2025, New Brighton Saints FC suffered a devastating setback when their changing facilities were destroyed in an act of mindless vandalism. Recognising the importance of grassroots football and the vital role clubs like New Brighton Saints play within their communities, the Foundation stepped in to help.

Recognising the importance of grassroots football and the vital role clubs like New Brighton Saints play within their communities, the Foundation stepped in to help.

A charity football day was organised featuring two matches:

North West Community Stars vs Elle's Army Men's Team

Poulton Vics FC vs Elle's Army FC Ladies

The event brought together players, supporters and local communities for a fantastic day of football, fundraising and remembrance. Funds raised were shared between the Elle Edwards Foundation and New Brighton Saints FC, helping the club replace the facilities that had been lost and allowing them to continue providing opportunities for local players.
