Elle's Army FC

Elle's Army FC was born from something truly special.

Following the success of two charity football matches held in 2024 and 2025 in memory of Elle Edwards, it became clear that the women's teams involved represented much more than football. They brought together young women from a wide range of backgrounds, united by friendship, community, and a shared desire to honour Elle's memory.

Inspired by the spirit, passion and togetherness shown during those events, Sophie Edwards — Elle's cousin — approached the Elle Edwards Foundation at the beginning of 2026 with an idea: to create a women's football team that would carry Elle's name forward and continue the legacy that had begun on those charity match days.

From that vision, Elle's Army FC was formed.

Since its creation, the club has continued to grow in both strength and numbers, providing opportunities for women to participate in football while becoming part of a supportive and inspiring community. The team has successfully competed in a number of tournaments across the Merseyside region and is now officially affiliated with The Football Association (FA).

More than just a football team, Elle's Army FC represents resilience, friendship, opportunity and remembrance. Every match played and every new player welcomed into the squad helps ensure that Elle's legacy continues to inspire future generations.
